Combat free radical damage – Antioxidants such as anthocyanins and polyphenols from fruits and vegetables neutralize free radicals caused by pollution and UV rays, helping to prevent premature dermal aging and wrinkles, as well as reducing skin cancer risk.

Reduce inflammation – Plant-based diets have highly beneficial anti-inflammatory effects, especially with an emphasis on fermented foods like kimchi, sauerkraut, miso, and plant-based yogurt. As such, they help improve inflammatory skin conditions such as acne and eczema.

Promote collagen production – Plant-based foods boost natural collagen production by providing essential amino acids, vitamin C, copper, and zinc, all of which are required for collagen synthesis. Foods like citrus, berries, bell peppers, leafy greens, nuts, seeds, and beans provide the building blocks and antioxidants necessary for structural integrity of the dermis and overall skin health.

Maintain hydration – Plant foods have a high volume of nutrient-rich liquid, called structural water, which helps keep skin cells quenched for a natural glow. Additionally, healthy fats from avocados, olives, nuts, and seeds support the skin barrier, keeping it hydrated, smooth, and better equipped to retain moisture.
